Aluminum weight is calculated using the formula: Weight = Volume × Density. Aluminum has a density of approximately 169 pounds per cubic foot (2,710 kg/m³), which makes it roughly one-third the weight of steel. This low density-to-strength ratio is what makes aluminum the preferred material for aerospace, transportation, and lightweight structural applications.
